Did you know that the Nissan LEAF has sold more than 50,000 units worldwide to-date? This makes the LEAF the top-selling electric car of all time. Despite this success, however, Nissan is dedicated to making the LEAF even more incredible each model year.

This year, the LEAF has a starting price of only $21,300 after federal tax savings. Most LEAF drivers use it for everyday commuting, and they travel far fewer miles than the 45-50 miles the LEAF achieves during summer or winter driving (it goes father in more ideal conditions). Nissan is constantly updating the LEAF to increase its real-world improvements. It receives minor edits each model year to reduce charging time or achieve greater range, whereas most vehicles are only updated every few years.

For the 2013 model year, Nissan has edited the LEAF's sheet metal to make it more aerodynamic and allowed it to recapture energy and regenerate its power in a wider range of situations that before. The 2013 LEAF also comes with improved onboard computer's energy management capabilities.

An optional 6.6 kW onboard charger upgrade is also available this year; it cuts the time of the 200V charger almost in half.
