In order for a YouTube video to go viral, it has to feature something special.  Sometimes that's a cat with a special skill, other times it's a rare, death defying stunt caught on tape.  Other times, though, it's just a video showing off a really cool car.  That's the case with a YouTube clip of a special edition R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R with a unique paint job.

Here's what happened: Auto Kandy, a specialty auto shop in London, decided to give this powerful Nissan Skyline GT-R an unusual look.  To the naked eye, it looks like the sports car has a slick orange paint job, but, trust us, there's more to its exterior than meets the eye.

When one auto technician dumped a bottle of water on the car, the orange paint color started to shift.  As more cold water touched the vehicle's surface, it changed from the bright hue to a mystical black shade.

This isn't magic.  The paint is heat sensitive, and when it comes in contact with something cold, like that bottled water, it changes color.  Pretty cool, right?

The YouTube video has gotten over two million hits and more than 7,000 'likes,' and you can check it out for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUGbV9Mp2gU

We also encourage you to check out Auto Kandy's Facebook page to see how they made this cool vehicle come to life.  And while you're on the social network site, why not 'Like' Lithia Nissan of Ames?  Or, if you're the kind of person who would like to meet our team face-to-face, stop by our Ames, IA dealership today.
