Last week saw a flurry of news items coming from Detroit where the 2014 North American International Auto Show took place. Of course here at Lithia Nissan of Ames, we were on the lookout for any news concerning our favorite automaker. We were anything but disappointed with Nissan's offerings at this year's event. Three new concept vehicles took the stage and dropped hints about the future of the new Nissan lineup, but today we want to focus on just one called the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept.
The Sport Sedan Concept is exactly what it claims to be. A taught, sexy, sedan with deep design lines in the body panels, vents, ducts, boomerang headlamps, and an athletic stance that makes it look as though it is hurtling forward even when at a standstill. We were also impressed with the "floating roof" that was suspended by two blacked-out pillars along the windshield.
We were even more excited when industry insiders began to agree that this was more than just another concept, but the basis for what will be the next-generation Nissan Maxima. It has been years since the professional Maxima sedan received any real updates and perhaps the purposed 3.5-liter V6 engine and intense new design is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Of course the 2016 Maxima is still in its infancy and we don't expect to see any real progress until the end of this year. Until that time, we encourage you to visit us at the Lithia Nissan of Ames showroom to speak with our staff about all the great Nissan leasing options available to area drivers. We are located at 2901 South Duff Ave Ames, IA. We hope to see you soon.
