It seems to us at Lithia Nissan of Ames that our esteemed Japanese automaker will never cease to amaze. And it was only recently that we received yet another reminder of this notion, as the brand's reimagined midsizer -- the fresh-faced 2016 Nissan Altima -- has left us flat-out floored.

Wondering what we liked best? If so, then check the clip below. Autotrader pundit, Jabari Jones, is here to provide you with the need-to-know info:

An altogether brilliant base engine, the Altima's 2.5-liter four-cylinder is coupled with a continuously variable transmission. Together, they dish out a decent 182 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque.

We'd also note that the entry-level four-banger is especially efficient when had on the base trim; so equipped, it'll return an impressive 31 mpg combined (27 city/39 highway).

If you'd like to learn more about this fun four-door, or wish to get behind the wheel of one, we encourage you to drop by our Ames, IA dealership. Our automotive experts are ready to answer your every question about the Altima, or any other Nissan model within the present portfolio.
